The picturesque harbour village of Port Isaac nestles between the Camel Estuary and Tintagel on the stunning North Cornwall coast. The area offers exhilarating walks along the coastal path, bike rides along the 10 mile Camel Trail, and safe beaches for both swimming and surfing. Many visitor attractions are within easy driving distance, including Tintagel Castle, the Eden Project and the artists' community of St Ives with the Tate Gallery. The village of Port Isaac is a famous conservation area and a popular location for film and TV crews. Its narrow streets have featured in the famous Poldark TV series, the film Saving Grace and, more recently in Doc Martin, a new TV series. Local colour is added by open air performances of the Fisherman's Friends, an a cappella singing group, and the weekly parade of the village's brass band. There is good selection of local restaurants, pubs and coffee shops, both in Port Isaac and other local villages.
